In PICU (pediatric icu)

Last night was a very long night! Have I mentioned lately that I have an awesome husband? Robert sat up last night with Nathaniel so I could get some rest. There is only one fold out chair in the intensive care unit. I slept on it while Robert sat next to Nathaniel and watched over him. At 3 am, I woke up and took over. Robert drove home and got to Thomaston about 5:30 this morning. He is probably sleeping now. When he gets up he will go get our other four beautiful children. He is such a great husband and father!

Nathaniel had a rough night. Although he is off of the oxygen now, he is still having some breathing issues. He is just having a difficult time breathing easily. When his breathing becomes very laboured, then his heart rate begins to spike. This really concerns me. It must not be as big of a deal as I feel like it is because he is getting moved into a regular room today. Please don't misunderstand me. I am very thankful that we will be out of the PICU. This will mean less tubes and wires. Finally I will get to hold him. I haven't got to do that yet. However, the rattling and wheezing when he breathes, just makes me nervous. Keep praying! I will let you know when we are out of the PICU. All of you guys are wonderful! We really do appreciate your messages, texts, and prayers more than you will ever know!
