Perfect Fits and Unbelievable Upgrades

Yesterday was Nathaniel's first doctor appointment with his new pediatric urologist in Lubbock, TX. We had a wonderful 6 month break from all things medical related. Now, it is time to get back into the routine of frequent doctor visits, living out of motels, eating fast food, and all things related to surgery.

Due to the three and a half hours it takes us to get to Lubbock, we decided to rent a hotel room for Monday night. Nathaniel's appointment was scheduled for 8 Tuesday morning. Robert and the other kids were going to have to stay in Carlsbad because of work and school. Robert's mom was going to make the trip with me.

There is something you should know about my husband. He is very good with our finances. We hardly ever pay full price for anything. He was able to reserve us a hotel room for $55 at the Residence Inn by Marriott. When we got there Monday afternoon, they were trying to fix a broken water pipe. They had been unable to clean our room because the water had been shut off. As a result of this, they upgraded us to a suite at no additional charge.Let me just say that it was the nicest hotel I had ever been in! It was more like our very own townhouse. There was a living area with fireplace, 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a kitchen. We got all of this for $55 plus tax.

After a very enjoyable stay in our suite, we headed out the next morning to Nathaniel's appointment. When we reached the doctor's office, we were informed that the doctor Nathaniel was scheduled to see was not going to be in. Her father was very ill and she had gone out of town to be with him. They had tried to call me the day before and reschedule but couldn't find my number. Nathaniel was the only patient who hadn't been rescheduled. Because Nathaniel was a new patient, they were able to schedule us with another doctor in the office.
What a "God thing" that turned out to be! This new doctor was by far the best one we had ever seen, and we have seen alot of doctors! He was not only knowledgeable about the hypospadias repair, but all of Nathaniel's other issues that weren't even related to urology. He asked me had I found any of the other specialists that Nathaniel needed to see. I told him that he was the first we had seen since our move. Upon hearing this, he not only recommended several specialists to me, but actually wrote their names down on a piece of paper. I was totally amazed! What a perfect fit this new doctor is!
Here I am feeling overwhelmed Lord! Once again, You have taken things that could have been annoyances and turned them into blessings. Only with You Lord could broken water pipes, unavailable rooms, lost numbers, and absent doctors be turned into "perfect fits" and "unbelievable upgrades". Seriously, why do I ever complain? Why do I ever become frustrated or angry about my circumstances? God is always in control!
