Last night, Nathaniel began to run a slight fever. He tossed and turned all night long. So naturally I was up most of the night with him. I have to admit that when the alarm went off this morning, I was not ready to get up. I dragged myself out of bed, woke up the kids for school, and put on a pot of coffee.
After I had gotten dressed, I headed to the kitchen to have a wonderful cup of coffee and jump start the day. Right before I reached the kitchen door, the heal on the shoe I was wearing broke off. Still determined to get that cup of coffee, I walked one shoe off and one shoe on to the coffee pot. I reached out and pick up that glorious coffee pot and the handle broke right off. I kid you not! Broken shoe! Broken coffee pot!
Now, I must inform you that I wasn't injured in either incident. So, before ya'll call Robert to check on me, know that I am fine. I didn't trip over anything when my heal broke. I didn't shatter the coffee pot when the handle broke off. There wasn't even any burns from hot liquid. To be honest, it all seemed like a perfectly choreographed skit from the Three Stooges.
My whole entire day was like this. I traveled back and forth to the schools, the doctor's office, and the pharmacy. Things were left in various places that had to be retrieved. I ran around all day hit and miss. It really turned out to be quite funny. God so understand my sense of humor. Things that others probably wouldn't find funny; like Nathaniel pulling off his pants in the doctor's office and saying, "Momma, I wet!" or the girls standing in the kitchen with 2 exploding coke cans trying to mop up the mess while the coke is still spewing out of the cans. These things have just cracked me up!
I know the Lord must have been getting a kick out of it too. It was just so funny! I felt like the whole day was just one big comedy sketch, orchestrated by God. Thank you Lord for that! You always give me what I need, just when I need it. ;)
Job 8:21 God will let you laugh again; you'll raise the roof with shouts of joy, (The Message)
